COMMUNITIES IN MORIS-FOUN SUB-VILLAGE WORRIED ABOUT CLEAN WATER IN SUMMER

Dili, October 17, 2024 (Média Democracia) – The people of Moris-Foun sub-village, Comoro Village, who have been living in the mountainous area, are very concerned about the availability of clean water to meet their daily needs.

According to Januario Soares, many people live in mountainous areas but do not have good access to clean water because the water they use every day is only based on time, which has an impact on their other activities.

“We have to wait until the midnight for the clean water that we have been using for our daily needs because the water is only available from 20:00 to 22:00 because they have to provide water to other complexes. If we don’t wait, we won’t be able to get clean water, because there is a spring there that is used by the entire community,” said Januario Soares.

He continued, the majority of people living in mountainous areas are students so in the morning it is very difficult for them to get clean water because the water only comes according to time so that it has an impact on students and some employees.

“We are currently making a plan like ten households pooling $10.00 to buy cement, sand and stones to build a water tank so that it can facilitate us,” He said.

In relation to this, it is necessary to explain that the people living in the mountainous area of Moris-Foun sub-village, there are many people who have not yet obtained access to clean water to meet their daily needs, so the government is asked to pay attention to the community so that can provide clean water for them.
