Dili, October 16, 2024 (Média Democracia) – Health Minister Elia dos Reis Amaral conveyed this when handing over the acceptance term for the positions of Director and Head in the hall of the Cinzas Palace, on Tuesday.
Regarding the handover of positions, the Minister of Health Elia dos Reis Amaral said that the handover of the positions of Director and Head that they held was to continue the commitment of the ninth constitutional government.
“The handover of the position of Director and Head of the Ministry of Health, held by the named successor in order to continue the great commitment of the ninth constitutional government to strengthen public functions that work better for the beloved country and society of Timor-Leste to achieve better results for the work process.” Said the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Elia in the hall of the Cinzas Palace, Caicoli
She said that the Ministry of Health’s efforts for the Director and Head positions were to see performance from the national level to remote areas.
“Show us about the dedication and spirit of devotion that is truly great from the Ministry of Health starting from the central level, autonomous institutions to health facilities in remote areas, Mr. Directors and Leaders who have worked until now, I express my gratitude as a representative of the government in the health sector.” She said.
She emphasized that would continue to improve performance to be better and of higher quality.
“The Ministry of Health continues to strive to reorganize, update and innovate the national health work system with the aim of improving better health services with quality implementation in order to improve access to health assistance for the community, especially for those who until now have not received good health assistance and those who are far up the mountains in remote areas, we need to bring them closer to provide health assistance to them.” She said.
She added that when Directors and Leaders receive a task, they must be able to serve well anyone who really needs help.
“When you receive a task, you immediately take responsibility, we have one goal, which is to be a good servant for the people who need us, as a leader, as a manager you must also have leadership qualities in making decisions, must be ready to act for the people and the country, obey the law and regulations, that is the main goal, divide your time wisely for those you lead and must serve with trust.” She said
She appealed, as a Director and Leader, to be ready to accept criticism, because criticism is constructive to evaluate the progress of work.
“Leaders must appreciate their subordinates, accept criticism because criticism is constructive, because through criticism they can know the progress of their work, use criticism to move forward, must be grateful to those who criticize us, be grateful to the thousands of people who pay attention to us, that means the work we do is still not optimal, the work we create is still stagnant, because in practice people always criticize, we exist so that they can criticize, we accept and we are ready to serve better.” She appealed.
As the current Director of Human Resource, Meri Cristevaria Lopes Baria said that she is very grateful to the Ministry of Health for giving her the trust to lead Human Resource within the Ministry of Health, and will be responsible for serving the community.
“While serving as a nurse at the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV abbreviation Tetun), but today I have a new task to serve, because so far I have served at the based attending and know the various problems that occur at our base. This new task is indeed difficult, but I am ready to solve various problems at the based attending, especially in the field of human resources in order to resolve various problems and complaints from the community.” She said.
She did not promise to complete the human resources program at the Ministry of Health in the short term, but would improve all work over time.
“I really understand what the concerns of the community are, especially in the field until now, I hope that journalists will continue to support me in finding data that can support me, if there are deficiencies in the field that cannot be accessed directly, I ask for help from all my friends to provide constructive input to help me in managing Human Resource at the Ministry of Health,” She added.
Meanwhile, 48 people are working on this activity, with 40 people holding the position of Chief and 8 people holding the position of Director.
