Dili, December 5, 2024 (Média Democracia) – Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Forest (MPPF) with development partners held a meeting to discuss the work process held for one year in Timor-Leste. This activity was held at the Delta-Nova Hall.
According to MPPF, Marcos da Cruz that today’s activity held a meeting with development partners about work that runs in the sectors of agricultural, livestock, fishing, and forests.
“This meeting was held for the second time to talk about four sectors to be conveyed to development partners about greater priority issues to be developed for the agriculture, livestock, fishing and forest sectors, so we ask partners to harmonize their programs for collaborate with the government.” Said MPPF, Marcos da Cruz
He added that through this meeting was to talk to each other to harmonize this program for one year, it has progress or not, therefore through this meeting can strengthen more coordination and communication so that next year can develop better in four sectors.
“The main purpose of this meeting is to share information with each other about what we have had for one year together with international partners from Union Europe, Australia, USA, Japan, which has so far has supported funds to facilitate these programs to develop better in four sectors in our country.” He said
He added that part of the ministry continued to be present to the development partner about next year’s funds which had also been reduced, therefore requested to partners could support us to develop a better agricultural sector in the future.
“We discuss together with partners about activities and programs must be in harmony with our priorities as the agricultural sector, we must add more rice, corn and vegetable production. Then, in other parts we also want to add more production in livestock and fishing areas, this is a priority from the ministry. In addition, there are priorities for how we can make reflorestation and resumation for our coffee, so that our priorities continue to be present with development partners, so in harmony in their activities to achieve our goals in the future.” The ministry said
As a representative of the Australian development partner, Deputy Ambassador in Timor-Leste and the Head of Assistance, Edward Wilkinson said that this action was an important moment for development partners to collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing, and Forests to improve better coordination of policy dialogue for several priorities in Timor-Leste.
“In the harmonization that improved last year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Forests wanted to collaborate with development partners to harmonize priorities in the Government of the Government IX, the progress of Goos through collaboration to improve the government’s goals in Timor-Leste.” Said Australian Development Partners, Deputy Ambassador in Timor-Leste and Head of Assistance, Edward Wilkinson
He continued that through in accordance with the Government of Timor-Leste together with development partners will discuss important issues about improving coordination with the embassy and also about the vision for resource optimization.
“Regarding coordination we are praising the ministry who continues to make efforts to increase knowledge with development partners through your leadership, we accept invitations for direct bilateral meetings and these events provide opportunities for us to build dialoguw and constructive information.” He said
For more details that last year the Ministry of Agriculture wants to determine the work of the technical dialogue group. These programs have been established last year, so that the development partner has a compromise to participate in group work to improve collaborative results, to conclude in the commentator about coordination asking the ambassador to talk about the optimization of resources and priority of the startegy plans.
