Dili, November 8, 2024 (Média Democracia) – Starting this week, the joint team led by SEATOU will start operations again which is cleaning up the city of Dili.
SEATOU, Germano Santa Brites said, thanks to the hard work of the joint team, Dili is now clean, a number of livestock are also raised on site, although there are also residents who raise livestock near their homes.
“However, there are those who see and continue to identify to keep pigs near their homes, so we continue to work hard to expel the animals that roam Dili so that this city becomes more beautiful and cleaner. Starting this week until December, the joint team will go to the field to work like last year and as a last resort we are working to make this city clean,” he told Media Democracia reporters after attending the discussion of the 2025 State General Fund in the National Parliament, Thursday this week.
He said that the joint team had identified places where small communities submit reports, not only that, the joint team had also involved a number of members of the Government and National Parliament.
“We have identified places where some communities have reported to us, not only from small communities but from National Parliament, Deputies, Members of Government, Civil Society and also up to SEATOU and teams to go to the field, a few weeks ago we had picked up some but now it is still ongoing.” He said
He emphasized that from now on, small-scale operations will be carried out to see animals that are still roaming freely, such as in Tasi-tolu, some of which have entered the altar.
“There are some animals that enter the Altar where the priest leads mass, cows and goats all enter, likewise in Cristo-Rei the community there lets the animals roam freely and we have also often provided information,” he added.
Meanwhile, if the community does not want to cooperate to help the government, then the joint team led by SEATOU must catch animals that roam freely to be given to orphans.
