Covalima, December 12, 2024 (Média Democracia) – This year, Tilomar Health Center recorded that Rheumatic and Gastric diseases ranked first at Tilomar Health Center, Covalima.
In an interview with the Head of Tilomar Health Center, Carlito Sebastiao Belo said that Tilomar Health Center has 36 human resources consisting of three doctors, six midwives, and nine senior and junior nurses including technical personnel from medical and cleaners as well as security to make up the total mentioned.
“Our health facilities in Tilomar lack three health centers, that’s why our equipment is lacking because in the health center itself there are also three health posts where health workers work there so the equipment used to provide services to the community is very lacking, but our health workers always serve the community with dignity and responsibility and professionalism, because this is our profession, even though we face challenges such as lack of equipment but we always serve the community as professionals.” Said the Head of Tilomar Health Center
He continued, this year people came for treatment and the Tilomar Health Center recorded various diseases here, the diseases recorded at the health center with the highest percentage were Rheumatism and Stomach, other diseases such as cough, diarrhea and tuberculosis were also recorded here, and diseases that were not recorded at the health center were HIV-SIDA and Malaria.
“Rheumatic diseases have a high percentage, therefore every month there are always health workers who register and people who are affected this deseases they can register more than 50 people every month, so this year this disease rank in first place and next is stomach/gastric disease, because these two diseases are always experienced by people when they seek treatment at the health center.” He said.
He added that the presence of these diseases can be seen from the very low stock of medicines, that’s why sometimes when people come, the medicine is lacking, but they as health workers still serve the community well and professionally. Medicines that are still in the health center such as antibiotics and others are no longer available. The order from the Head of the Tilomar Health Center to the Ministry of Health is to be able to respond to these medicines, so that it can reduce diseases in the health center in the entire community, not only in Tilomar but also in other health centers.
