Dili, October 15, 2024 (Média Democracia) – The State Secretary for Equality in collaboration with UN Women and the Ministry held a workshop in the National Planning Action for Gender-Based Violence during the implementation and monitoring of 2022 to 2032, on Monday.
Director General of State Secretary for Equality, Armando Da Costa said, SEI together with UN Women and partners who took part in this National Planning Action for Gender-Based Violence together in this activity to see the implementation and monitoring of 2022 for 2032 jobs.
“Today SEI together with UN Women and partners in ministries and civil society that take part in the implementation of national planning actions for gender-based violence that organize more focused on the development of indicators on monitoring the implementation of national planning actions for gender-based violence of 2022-2032.” Said Chairman of SEI, Armando Da Costa
He asserted that national planning actions will be implemented until 2032, currently only entering two years, therefore SEI has received more support from UN Women to hold this monitorization.
He continued that this program was being implemented, last week the Council of Ministries had approved the commission between one ministry on how to make monitorization and assessment for the plan itself.
“Now the implementation is underway, in a few weeks ago through Council of Ministries has approved the commission between one ministry to monitor and assess the implementation of the plan itself.” He added
While progress for monitorization is still reported at the end of this month, so through this workshop the work team is preparing to identify before reporting clear progress.
As the manager of the “Hamutuk Ba Igualdade” program (together for equality) from UN women in Timor-Leste, Nuntana Tangwinit said that UN women were truly happy to support the initiatives from the State Secretary which held about the progress and monitorization of the VBJ National Planning action.
“We are happy to provide support with this initiative to improve the progress of monitorization and monitoring of national planning actions and how to strengthen better violence plans.” She said
She continued, UN Women’s hopes that in this phase to continue the work to get data, so that it can report all program progress.
“We start from very small but we hope that the pilot phase that we are currently working on can continue, I see and help so that this monitoring can be successful, how to report the program and all develop to get clear data to be informed to politicians.” She said
Nuntana added, this meeting UN Women saw to clarify the instruments used for data collection.
“Then, we hope that this pilot model can have several keys, indicators will help in information for your process and spread the continuation to make monitorization for the progress of everyone in the future.” She added
In addition, in this activity participated by the ministries, civil society and also all partners.
